Adaptive antenna

An adaptive antenna is an antenna of which the antenna radiation (or reception) pattern can be adjusted dynamically. An adaptive antenna consists of a number of actual antennas (called elements). Adaptive antennas use signal processing algorithms to combine the signals from the different elements in such a way that the desired signal is received (or sent in a particular direction) or that interfering signals or multipath signals are optimally surpressed.
