FPLMTS

The Future Public Land Mobile Telecommunications System (FPLMTS) was the old working name for a global mobile communications standard to be developed by the ITU. Later, the ITU decided not to standardize a single system, but to develop a concept of a family of standards instead. This family of standards is called IMT-2000.
