Mitigation techniques are technologies used in radiocommunications to reduce the likelihood of interference from a radio transmitter to other users. Mitigation techniques are used in situations where a large group of users have to share a frequency band or where a certain application has to share a frequency band with another radio service which has a higher priority and therefore may not be hindered. Mitigation techniques range from very simple techniques to reduce the power to the minimum necessary for a connection to complex technologies to monitor the radio environment and select a free channel.
